INTRODUCTION

CES Consulting Engineers Salzgitter GmbH is an independent consulting engineering company with worldwide experience based in Braunschweig, Germany. CES offers solutions to complex multidisciplinary engineering tasks for all civil engineering and related sectors. CES renders services ranging from preliminary investigations to construction supervision and cost controlling, training of the clients‘ staff, advisory services in the operation and maintenance of installations, as well as the organization and strengthening of public authorities and institutions. CES works mainly in the field of development cooperation and implements infrastructure projects for national high-end clients (ministries and line authorities) funded by international donors.

For running and upcoming projects in Sub-Saharan Africa we are looking for an experienced International Team Leader for TVET projects (f/m/d).

PROJECTS

Our projects aim at the overall promotion of TVET in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Focus lies on transformation of existing technical schools (like upgrading, rehabilitation and expansion) into TVET Centres of Competence as well as building and establishing new TVET schools.

Programmes aim to apply KfW school-building standards, in the sense of a youth friendly, fully functional design. In addition, special attention is paid to increasing energy efficiency in the school buildings.

Within these projects educational and training concepts are developed, cooperation strategies with the private sector are established, proposals for curricula are developed, and training and further tutoring of teachers is carried out as well.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• University degree in architecture, civil engineering or similar
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in design and supervision of construction in international projects related to educational infrastructure (TVET infrastructure would be an asset)
• Proven experience in the design, tendering and construction supervision of educational facilities, with particular emphasis on the design of state-of-the-art schools
• Experienced and qualified in the design of gender-sensitive and modern educational infrastructure in emerging countries
• Experience with energy efficiency measures and sustainable building materials would be an asset
• Experience in revising educational and technical standards for school buildings
• Relevant experience in the following fields: project identification measures, project application procedures, capacity building measures and trainings, preferably in the field of education and TVET
• Fluency in English
• Regional experience (Sub-Saharan Region) mandatory.
